USA CRITS Selects El Paso as Host City for Inaugural Cycling Symposium

2019 RISE – The Cycling Talent Identification Combine & Symposium – Poised to Bring Top Athletes and Coaches Together

EL PASO, TEXAS – USA CRITS and Destination El Paso are excited to announce that El Paso has been selected as the host city for the first-ever 2019 RISE – Cycling Talent Identification Combine & Symposium. Part of a multiyear award, the organization will pump over $10 Million into the local economy over the course of five years.

The multi-day event is the first-of-its-kind where high school students and college bound student athletes have the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of key coaches, administrators and sport directors from collegiate, club, elite national and international teams for selection and scholarship awards.

RISE Cycling Symposium is expected to draw over 2,500 attendees and could contribute an estimated $2.2 million in economic impact each year. The program includes performance and mental testing, educational seminars, keynote presentations, peer -to-peer interaction, innovative panel discussions and a leading brands expo. The event is uniquely open to all interested endurance-minded athletes to take part, not just those seeking collegiate recruitment and scholarship opportunities.

“RISE gives athletes a great opportunity to come together at one location to test their skills, identify future talent in the sport as well as a pathway for lifelong engagement in wellness and the endurance lifestyle, all while experiencing innovative educational programs. It’s a big moment for the space and we believe a key part of its future,” stated RISE Cycling Symposium founder, Ravi Rajcoomar.

“This was quite an exciting proposal to orchestrate and we are pleased to be selected as the host city. Our partnerships with the University of Texas at El Paso’s College of Health Sciences and Texas Tech University Health Science Center’s Sports Medicine Fellowship provide a comprehensive local organizing committee and a solid foundation to host and grow RISE”, said Bryan Crowe, General Manager of Destination El Paso. He continued, “What’s even more exciting is that RISE will make El Paso its home for the next 5 years.”
